What this is

Before machines fit in a pocket and forgot how to be repaired, they came in beige boxes with switches you could feel, manuals you could dog-ear, and fan noise you learned to love. The Beige Age is a show about that world — the home computers, calculators, and synths of the '70s, '80s and '90s, the companies that built them, and the people who never quite let them go.

Expect deep dives into specific machines and product lines, some myth-busting, the odd interview with people who were actually there, and a healthy respect for beige plastic that's gone slightly yellow with age.

A man who has taken apart more beige boxes than he can count, and successfully put most of them back together. Decades spent fixing other people's computers for a living, a brief and mysterious stint in front of a local radio microphone dispensing advice on viruses no one wanted, and a lifelong, medically unexplained fondness for the hum of a cooling fan.
